Delvena Women and Children’s Refuge – has been providing crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence exclusively for approximately 35 years.
Manly Warringah Women’s Resource Centre began managing Delvena Women and Children’s Refuge in late 2014.
Delvena can accommodate five families in a boarding house model of communal living.
The refuge has five bedrooms, several kitchens, several bathrooms and a welcoming living area, playground and backyard for the children.
The local community have been actively engaged in supporting the women and children at Delvena for many years.
This community connection reaffirms for women and children staying at Delvena that they are valued.
This close relationship with the local community inspires and builds confidence for the women to continue their journey free from violence and abuse.
Recently we thanked Trent Zimmerman MP and the Rotary Club of Mosman for funding that enabled us to update our softfall in Delvena, this was Stage 1 of our plan to renovate the back yard,
We are now at the exciting part of Stage 2 for the backyard.
We’ve got the plans and the vision, now we just need to money to reimagine and renovate the garden to create a magical place for the families to relax and rejuvenate.
We need your help to now find the funds to pay for it.
